A Goodbye Letter to Richmond

Me + the Richmond skyline. Check out the original post here
I moved to from New York City to Richmond, Virginia two
years ago to finish up my Bachelor’s Degree. I always knew that my time in
Richmond was going to be fleeting, as I had plans to relocate after graduation long
before I made the move to RVA. I never anticipated how much I was going to fall
in love with Richmond, how much I was going to grow and change, and the
incredible experiences I would have these past two years.
The reason I created River City Chic was to get myself
acclimated to the fashion scene of this bustling, eclectic city. Never in my
wildest dreams did I think I would become a known blogger around town or gain
so much support for this little project from my friends, family and the
Richmond community. This support means the world to me, and is the reason why this
blog has succeeded.
I love that I’ve been able to use this blog as a way to
explore and report on Richmond’s unique fashion community first-hand. I didn’t consider
Richmond to be a fashion capital before moving here, but after attending RVA
Fashion Week, browsing all of the funky, local boutiques, and reporting on RVA
street style with College Fashionista, I’ve learned that this is hands down one
of the most stylish cities in the country.
Now it’s time to move on to the next chapter of my life. I’m
moving to the Washington, D.C. area tomorrow, and I’m getting more and more
sentimental about this town with every box I finish packing up. Richmond, we’ve
had our ups and downs, but at the end of the day I’ve got nothing but love for
you. Stay weird, RVA.
Keep up with River City Chic on FacebookTwitter and Bloglovin‘!
