I’m starting a 30×30 Challenge for the month of July. What is this challenge, you ask? Basically, I’ve selected 30 pieces from my closet (clothing and shoes) and will only rotate these 30 pieces for the next 30 days. Also, I will refrain from shopping for the next 30 days (yikes.) You might have seen this challenge before on Kendi Everyday, and you can also see the contributors of Within Color participating in this challenge this month as well.
What possessed me to do something this insane?
One, this is the part of the summer where I get stuck in a style rut. I’ve worn all of my new summer pieces to death, and I don’t really think it’s all that practical to acquire any new summer pieces this late in the season considering my closet is overflowing. I start thinking about fall really early since a great fall/winter wardrobe is a lot more expensive than a warm weather wardrobe. Also, I just graduated from college and now I’m focusing on building a wardrobe appropriate for the office. I definitely need funds for that, so hopefully my 30 day shopping ban will help with this.
I’m definitely going to have to get creative and think outside of the box for this, but I’m so up for the challenge! Stay tuned to see what outfit combinations I end up coming up with.
This is great practice for packing for an extended trip! I'm excited to see all your combinations. You can do it!

I've been wanting to try this out and I, like you, have worn my summer clothes to death.
Love it! I've always wanted to do one of these! You chose some gorgeous pieces, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I've done Kendi's 30×30 twice and really enjoyed it. It seems daunting but I learned a lot about remixing. Perhaps I'll try it again soon. I like the items you picked and can visualize some nice combos! Have fun!
This challenge seems so interesting and crazy at the same time that you almost talked me into doing it myself too 😀 I'm not that sure right now but I'm very excited to see your outfits! 🙂

Just came across your blog via CapFABB — love this challenge idea! And I also spend a lot of weekends hopping from Arlington to Richmond as the bf lives there so it's fun to see another blogger with a simliar city background!
Hey Liz! That's crazy that we have such similar city backgrounds, I definitely hope I run into you at a meetup one day so we can dish about our favorite spots in both cities!
I LOVE this idea. I'm thinking I should definitely do it for August… Let's see if I can actually follow through!
